After 2 years of countless gigs, song writing, debating, money borrowing and dreaming, syalaM’s debut album, Tayo, is finally out! The CD contains 10 orginal compositions by the band and the songs are like no other that you can hear on the market today. I had to contact FAS for printing and ask for their requirements para sa cd replication ng album namin.. then contact New Sparrow for the in-lay printing..
pero bago ang lahat.. I needed to write a letter of intent to OMB (Optical Media Board) and address it to their chairman edu manzano amd wait til they call me.. which they didnt.. good thing i asked how long does it take nung pinasa ko yung letter nung Mar 10. kase i went to follow up today (Mar 14) and as they said before 5 working days daw normally bago maaprubahan and macategorize yung permit namin..
i got there asking them what happened to my letter and bakit wala pang tumatawag sa phone ko regarding the permit.
and the dude at the licensing section said 5 working days normally yun..
which made me ask him if i submitted my letter last monday it should be exactly 5 working days by now.
ano ng balita kase kailangan namin malaman kung gano katagal at magkano aabutin bago namin maprint and release itong album namin.
the dude stood up and came back with the signed letter of intent na..
then he told me to sort out all these requirements:
REQUIREMENTS FOR REGISTRATION & LICENSING:
1.letter of intent
2.notarized application form duly accomplished and signed by the applicant(triplicate copy)
3.4 pieces. latest (2×2) signed photo of the applicant

5.comprehensive location sketch of establishment
6.floor lay-out of the establishment
7.latest ITR with stamp receipt of BIR
8.Certification of NO pending Administrative Case from BIR
9.two (2) pieces proof of billing
10.two (2) pieces official identification (passport, sss, drivers license, gsis id)
11.TCT or lease agreement, if land is not owned by applicant
12.latest financial statement
13.TIN Number of Establishment
14.Special of Attorney
FOR SINGLE PROPRIETORSHIP
1.NBI clearance
2.Bank statements (not more than 15 days)
3.Certificate of business Name from Dept of Trade and Industry
4.Table of Organization and list of officers with addresses
REQUIREMENTS FOR REPLICATION PERMIT
1.License as Local Licensee
2.Duly-filled application form in duplicate copies per title (notarized)
3.Notarized affidavit of undertaking
4.Certified copy of Contract and/or certificate from the source of rights (notarized)
5.Submission of copies of the approved format of finished product(after replication)
6.list of song titles, names of featured recording artists and the title of each work recorded, PARI Certificate(if PARI member)
haha.. i’m seriously not getting the point here.. it’s way too much requirements for me to prove that all our songs are original compositions and that hawak na namin yung copyright nung album just for them to give us the permit to replicate our own album.
i’m currently sorting it out. pero i honestly think kailangan nilang bawasan yung requirements nila.
let’s see how long this whole thing takes..
PEACE

Mga Kaibigan,
If you have ever listened to the recordings
or seen the performances of Joey Ayala at ang Bagong Lumad, or have
worn tee shirts with woodcut-like designs of animals, indigenous art,
and neo-ethnic takes on the UP logo, then you have been touched by Noe
Tio, Bagong Lumad drummer and graphic artist.
Throughout the
Philippines his influence on pop culture, albeit unsigned in most
cases, has been felt. Note the proliferation of indigenous visual
motifs and percussion-playing since we started producing recordings and
prints in the mid-80s.
Noe is gone now, he crossed the bridge
about 2:30 a.m. , February 11, 2008 after suffering a massive stroke in
Baguio , in the early morning of February 10.
He is survived by his partner, Pearly dela Peña, and two sons: Bandoy (5) and Christian (3).
If
you’d like to give back some of the creative energy that Noe channeled
into our collective consciousness via his work and passion, please
don’t hesitate to send your donations to my account with Bank of the
Philippine Islands:

If you use US Dollars: Swift Code is BOPIPHMM and ROUTING # is 021000021.
I’ll
see to it that your kindness gets to the family, primarily for Noe’s
kids’ education. Who knows. One or both of them may enrich our lives
in one way or another, just as their father did.
Noe has returned to the light, long live Noe!
Peace,
Joey Ayala
SULU (FEB. 5, 2008)
– Sulu Governor Sakur Tan on Tuesday condemned the killings of innocent
civilians by government troops on a coastal village in Maimbung town.
In a press statement, Tan said seven villagers and a soldier who was on
a break, were killed, including two children and two teenagers, in the
town during a military operation early Monday.
"Innocent civilians were killed. The children were shot in the head," he said.
Tan
led provincial government officials on Tuesday in condemning the
killings and he said they will file criminal charges against those
involved in the raid. The Provincial Legislative Council also passed a
resolution condemning the killings.
"We
condemned the killings and those soldiers involved in the murder of
innocent people must be charged in court and pay for their crimes," Tan
said.
The
Philippine flags were flown at half-mast in Sulu province on Tuesday to
mourn the death of the civilians, obviously not for the government
soldiers who mowed down the civilians in cold-blood in the pretext of
looking after the Abu Sayyaf militants who kidnapped a businesswoman
more than a week ago in downtown Jolo.
The
military ordered an investigation into the killings, but it was unknown
whether those involved in the raid had been taken into custody or not.
Military
spokesman said troops, tracking down a kidnapped trader Rosalie Lao,
clashed at dawn Monday with alleged Abu Sayyaf militants in the village
of Ipil in Maimbung town where the eight bodies had been found later in the day.
But
a village leader Rahsi Agas accused troops of killing the civilians.
"They were just seaweed farmers and not members of the Abu Sayyaf," he
told reporters.
He said some of those killed were shot at sea while escaping the fighting on boat.
Those
killed were identified as Marisa Payian, 4; Wedme Lahim, 9; Alnalyn
Lahim, 15; Sulayman Hakob, 17; Kirah Lahim, 45; Eldisim Lahim, 43;
Narcia Abon, 24, all civilians and Pfc. Ibnul Wahid, of the Army’s 6th Infantry Division.
Private Wahid, an MNLF integree was shot by Army soldiers despite identifying himself as an inegree.
